- Living up to Filipinos’ expectations, Catriona Gray won Miss Universe 2018 on Monday.
The Philippines now has four Miss Universe winners.

It’s been a long journey, but finally, Miss Universe 2018 has been crowned. Lots of talented and lovely women competed for the honor, but only one now has the crown.
Catriona Gray, Miss Philippines, has won Miss Universe 2015 on Sunday (Monday PHL time) in Bangkok, Thailand.

She won the 67th annual competition during the telecast, hosted by comedian Steve Harvey wins more than just a crown. As the crowned Miss Universe, she’ll get a ton of exposure on a media tour in New York City, among other prizes that haven’t been announced.

Final question: What is the most important lesson you’ve learned in your life, and how would you apply it to your time as Miss Universe?
“I work a lot in the slums of Tondo, Manila and the life there is very poor, sad and I’ve always taught myself to look for the beauty in it, to look in the beauty of the children and be grateful.”
“I would bring this aspect as a Miss Universe to see situations with a silver lining and to assess where I could give something, where I could provide something as a spokesperson.”
“If I could teach people to be grateful, we could have an amazing world where negativity could not grow and foster and children would have smiles on their faces.”

Miss Venezuela was placed as second runner up while Miss South Africa landed as the first runner up.
Catriona Gray, 24, made history by winning Miss Universe 2018, bringing home the fourth crown for the country. She now joins Gloria Diaz, Margarita Moran and Pia Wurtzbach, who won in 1969, 1973, 2015, respectively.
