Administrering of 3rd booster dose against COVID-19 in Cambodia finally takes off along with 4th dose
The 3rd booster dose has now been administered to 5,073,265 people, including 2,587,619 females while the fourth dose which started on January 14 has seen a total of 204,730 getting it as of January 20.
To date, since vaccination first started on February 10, 2021, a total of 14,326,513 people have received their first dose of the vaccine while 13,728,089 have received their second dose to complete their two course vaccine programme.

OMICRON
Omicron patients now allowed home treatment
Patients with Omicron COVID-19 variant are now allowed to receive care and treatment service at home.
This was announced this evening by Prime Minister Hun Sen in a special voice message.
Even though Omicron is known to be the fastest-spreading variant of concern identified by the World Health Organization, it is not as dangerous as Delta and Alpha, explained the Premier.
For foreigners infected with Omicron, he said, it depends on them, they can choose to be treated at hotel or embassy or at their selected places. They are not required to be admitted to the hospital anymore.
Hun Sen added that Cambodian nationals, both inside the country and from abroad, are authorised for home treatment, while the formalities and procedures are the same as in the case of Delta and Alpha.
For patients being hospitalised, regardless of their nationality, they can be transferred home for care and treatment if they wish to do so, he continued.
This new order comes into force with immediate effect, the Prime Minister stressed. underlined.
Cambodia has so far registered 503 Omicron variant infected patients. Of these, 152 are community infections.

Myanmar’s Omicron cases rise to 146

ANGON (XINHUA) – The number of Omicron cases has risen to 146 after 28 new cases were reported in Myanmar, according to a statement from its Ministry of Health on Thursday night.
The ministry said the Omicron variant was found in 11 samples of returnees from Malaysia, six from the Philippines, three from Thailand, four from Singapore, two from India and one each from the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and Russia.
According to the ministry’s figures on Thursday, the number of COVID-19 infections has increased to 533,732 in Myanmar after 128 new Covid-19 cases were reported in the past 24 hours.
With one more death, the death toll has reached 19,307 as of Thursday.
A total of 511,798 patients have been discharged from hospitals.
Myanmar detected its first two COVID-19 positive cases in March 2020.

‘Severe COVID outbreak’ in Baguio, Iloilo City; Metro Manila risk classification downgraded — OCTA
MANILA, Philippines — There is a “severe outbreak” of COVID-19 infections in Baguio City and Iloilo City, while Metro Manila was downgraded to “very high risk” classification, a fellow of the independent analytics group OCTA Research said on Sunday.
Citing data from the Department of Health (DOH), OCTA Research fellow Guido David said Iloilo City, Cebu City, and Lapu-Lapu had “new highs” in COVID-19 cases.

New COVID-19 infections in Baguio and Iloilo City stood at 435 and 577, respectively.
Metro Manila, on the other hand, deescalated from “severe outbreak” classification to “very high risk,” David said.
Metro Manila listed 6,646 new COVID-19 infections on January 22.
The capital region’s one-week growth rate and ADAR are -42 percent and 72.05, respectively. Its reproduction number is at 1.20.
On Saturday, the country recorded 30,552 new COVID-19 cases, driving the overall case count to 3,387,524.

COVID-19 OUTBREAK
The country registered 12 more Covid-19 fatalities and 7,122 new cases during the previous 24 hours, the Public Health Ministry announced on Wednesday morning.
This compared with the 18 coronavirus-related fatalities and 6,397 new cases reported on Tuesday morning.
There were 6,950 local cases and 172 imported ones.

15,935 new coronavirus cases recorded on Friday
Update: January, 21/2022 –
HÀ NỘI — A total of 15,935 new COVID-19 patients were reported in Việt Nam on Friday, raising the total number to 2,110,737.
Thirty-four were imported infections and the remaining domestic. New cases were reported in 62 out of 63 provinces and cities across the country.
A total of 10,912 transmissions were detected in the community.
