Lt. Gen. Hun Manet inaugurated a new medical treatment plant, as the country tries to deal with increasing medical waste in the wake of the Covid-19 pandemic.

The inauguration was held on June 10 at Chamkar Kuy Village, Prey Pouch Commune, Ang Snoul District, Kandal on June 10.

Lt. Gen. Manet said that Bun Leang Ly Global, the company that constructed the plant, has built medical treatment plants in other provinces: Kandal, Kampot, Tboung Khmum, Banteay Meanchey and Stung Treng.

He congratulated the company for the construction of the treatment plant and said that it shows that the private sector plays an important role in contributing to the government’s management of medical waste.

The Lieutenant General said the private sector is a major source of investment in promoting social and economic progress and sustainable innovation, and is an indispensable asset in the process of socio-economic development of Cambodia.
