As the countdown for the year 2024 begins, provinces are gearing up their plans to usher in the New Year.

Keut Chhe, deputy governor of Phnom Penh, said that the Municipal Administration will organise a variety of programmes at the Win-Win Monument, including a product exhibition for three days, from Friday to New Year’s Eve. To ensure the security of merrymakers, security will be heightened in every location where fireworks are allowed.

Bun Yong, deputy governor of Kep province, said that the Kep provincial administration has arranged several entertainment programmes for two days from December 30 to 31 to create an atmosphere of fun and attract more national and international tourists to the province.

MYANMAR: Myanmar and China sign follow-up contract related to Kyaukpyu SEZ Deep Sea Port Project


(Eleven/ANN) — The signing ceremony of the additional contract (Addendum) related to the Kyaukpyu Special Economic Zone deep sea port project was held on the evening of December 26 at the Horizon Lake View Hotel in Nay Pyi Taw.

The signing ceremony was attended by Deputy Prime Minister and Union Minister of Transport and Communications General Mya Tun Oo, Chairman of the Central Working Group of Myanmar Special Economic Zone Union Cabinet Office Ministry (1) Union Minister U Aung Naing Oo and Union Ministers, Deputy Ministers and officials, Chargé d’affaires of the Chinese Embassy in Myanmar Ms. Cao Jing, China CITIC Group Chairman Mr. Xi Guohua and officials.

“Myanmar and China are neighbouring countries that share a border that is more than two thousand kilometers long. We all know that there has been a very close kinship relationship for centuries.

During the 70 years of Myanmar-China diplomatic relations, political mutual trust between the two countries has deepened and friendship has also strengthened. Bilateral trade and cooperation in economic sectors such as investment will also be seen.

The China-Myanmar Economic Corridor (CMEC) is a 1,700-kilometre long project that connects Kunming in China’s Yunnan Province through Mandalay in central Myanmar to Kyaukpyu, which is the sea exit to the west,’’ Deputy Prime Minister and Union Minister General Mya Tun Oo said in his opening speech.

THAILAND: Thai PM Srettha pledges deeper ties along Thai-Malaysia borderprint sharing button

BANGKOK: Thai Prime Minister Srettha Thavisin has pledged to deepen Thai-Malaysia ties through enhanced cooperation, aiming to bring tangible benefits and improved well-being to people in both countries, especially along the border.

In his latest post on X (Twitter), Srettha said he had a discussion with his Malaysian counterpart Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim who was on a private visit to Phuket on Tuesday.
