HEADLINE-PALESTINE AIDS | Brunei airdrops food aid into Gaza

His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien Sa’adul Khairi Waddien, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam consented for almost BND1.4 million from the Humanitarian Fund for Palestinians in Gaza 2023 to fund food airdrops for Palestinian people.

Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) in a statement said USD1,050,000 (approximately BND1,399,545) was allocated to provide 5,920 meals ready-to-eat (MRE) food packages, each containing breakfast, lunch and dinner.

The first delivery took place on Wednesday, comprising two airdrops using Jordanian airforce aircraft on the northern coastal region of Gaza. There was another airdrop yesterday and one more today.

Brunei Darussalam Ambassador to Jordan and Non-Resident Ambassador to Palestine Haji Mahadi bin Haji Maidin was present for the airdrop preparations at Jordan’s King Abdullah II Air Base.
