.Cambodia is seeking to expand its rice export market in the Philippines after local rice exporter City Rice Import Export Co Ltd signed a rice purchase agreement with DILAI Trading Co Pte Ltd for shipments to the Southeast Asian market.
The agreement was signed yesterday at the Ministry of Commerce in the presence of Commerce Minister Cham Nimul, senior ministry officials and representatives of the Philippine Embassy in Cambodia.
The deal marks a new commercial opportunity for Cambodian rice exporters and is expected to strengthen Cambodia’s agricultural trade and economic cooperation with the Philippines.

Nimul welcomed the agreement, praising City Rice Import Export’s business growth and thanking DILAI Trading for choosing Cambodia as a rice supplier and placing confidence in the quality and supply capacity of Cambodian rice.
She described the agreement as more than a commercial transaction, saying it represents an important strategic step in expanding overseas markets for Cambodian rice, strengthening food security and deepening economic and trade cooperation between Cambodia and the Philippines.

The minister called on both companies to implement the agreement fully and efficiently, with a focus on professionalism, accountability, transparency and close cooperation. She also stressed the importance of accurate payments, timely delivery, product quality and stable supply.
The ministry also urged stakeholders across the rice value chain and the Cambodia Rice Federation to continue improving rice quality and safety, as well as packaging standards, while fully implementing the ‘Cambodia Rice Export Market Expansion and Diversification Strategy 2025–2030’.
